MODA MAG.COM -- No one likes to yell into the phone, but much too often we end up speaking a notch or two higher in attempt to transmit our conversation to the other side.  Cell phones have an awful reputation for faulty connections.  The Sony Ericsson T300, however, is one of the few exceptions.  Not only is the reception quality outstanding, but the T300 offers lots of added touches including games, a color screen, GPRS, polyphonic ring tones and much more, all at an affordable price (about $200).

The phone's interface is extremely user-friendly and it is easy to figure out most of the functions without a manual.  Some of the advanced functions are slightly more tricky, but still quite simple once you get the hang of it.  Navigation is a breeze with the joystick feature.  The buttons are fairly small, but large enough to press accurately if you don't have big fingers. They are also designed so that it is difficult to accidentally press them, which may in times also pose a challenge, especially when typing messages.

One of the best features on T300 was its capability to use WAP.  Granted this feature is still in an elementary phase on most phones in this price range, it can be quite useful when it comes to checking your email abroad, or surfing the web for some key information.  Just make sure to disconnect when you are done!

In the messaging section you can check your voicemail, chat online, SMS/MMS and use your POP3 or IMAP4 e-mail.  The call features are quite standard.

There is also fun to be had with the Sony Ericsson T300.  The phone comes with 7 games:  Erix, Alien Scum, Black Deal, Minigolf, and Ace of Spades.  More games can be downloaded online.  You can also change themes, compose your own ringtones and record memos to yourself.

The most important thing about this phone is reception.  And this is where it truly shines. After testing this phone for local and long distance calls, the quality at times seemed better than that of a landline.  The maximum volume is not as high as it could be, but in most situations the quality of reception was crystal (I wish I could say the same about the quality of conversation!).  All in all, with lots of web surfing and some gaming involved, I got about 4-5 hours of talk time out of the phone, and approx. 6 days of standby time.

All in all, one of the best phones that you can get for your money.  High quality, practical, and with some fun and games thrown in - this is the perfect phone for the average user.
