Pat McDonagh is an Irish-born, dynamic
couture designer. She made her first mark on the fashion scene during
the boutique phenomena of the 60's. Her designs are Avant-grade, yet
retain an earthy, classy feel. Today, she is regarded as one of the
most creative Canadian designers.
McDonagh was educated in England and
Paris in the art of designing. Some celebrities that had graced her
outfits include, Diana Riggs in the Avenger series, The Beatles, HRH,
the late Diana princess of Wales, actress Deborah Kara Unger (Crash,
The Game) and most recently actress Wendy Crewson (Air Force One, 6th
Day) who wore Pat McDonagh's "Poppy" dress to the Genie
awards.
Pat had won many awards including the
New York Times award for design excellence, the 'Judy' award, as well
as the prestigious American Legend fur award in Frankfurt. McDonagh
even managed to nab an award for a shoe, which now resides at the Bata
Museum.
Pat McDonagh Couture can be found in
high fashion specialty boutiques across Canada and the United States.
