Preview | Jay Farrar: ThirdShiftGrottoSlack

Jay Farrar's has just released a
5-track EP, ThirdShiftGrottoSlack. The EP is a follow-up to
his critically acclaimed solo-effort, Sebastopol, and features four
previously unreleased tracks and a remix of "Damn
Shame" by producer Tom Rothrock.
Farrar has been a darling among the critics ever since founding the
seminal Alt-country band, Uncle Tupelo, in the mid-80's with
high-school friend (and current Wilco front man) Jeff Tweedy. Farrar
went on to front the band Son Volt in much of the same moody and
rousing rural style of Uncle Tupelo. In the fall of 2001, Farrar
decided to fly solo and branch out from his alt-country roots and
released Sebastopol which featured a variety of musical styles and
instruments.
Fans of Ryan Adams, John Mayer, Wilco
and Pete Yorn will be very pleased to know that ThirdShiftGrottoSlack
is in stores now.
