Michael Moore is still sarcastic and extremely
unapologetic in presenting his views and making his point. He is the
prankster with the resources to poke fun at the rich and powerful.
The DVD is the edited results of season one. You have to see the
intro and the ending credits to each show. You get to see his pranks.
Hiring some actors for a day to stage a witchunt in Washington, DC
during the Starr hearings. (They are dressed in Pilgrim outfits.)
Taking a group of to sing Christmas carols to the tobacco companies
offices to sing. Each singer can only speak (sing) with an electronic
device. They had the voice box removed due to cancer.
Doing a game show style quiz with rich folk verses working class. (You
may notice the scoring is suspicious.) He asks people in the streets
(wealthy and poor) questions like "What is your ZIP code?" and "What
is the price of a share of IBM?" Visiting the ambassadors of India and
Pakistan to see if they plan to have cartoons and drills on how to
survive a nuclear blast.
Taking a van of homosexuals to several states to protest sodomy laws.
Then mocking protestors who are anti-gay.
Moore places a webcam across the street from the apartment of Luicanne
Goldberg -- who convinced Linda Tripp to tape her conversations with
Monica Lewinsky-- in an attempt to teach Goldberg about our rights to
privacy. (The cam has since been
removed.)
He has the results of a poll every week to show how silly polls
results can get. He hired a company to do polls. One result is a
percentage of Americans who believe drugs will remain illegal because
"cops would then have to buy there own."
The show can boast of some success. He helped get a man re-hire at
UPS. He helped resolve a dispute with a man and his HMO for a
transplant operation. (Moore held a funeral rehearsal in front of the
headquarters.)
The extras have some previews, a bio of Moore, and some more poll
results.
If you like watching pranks you will like the DVD. Otherwise be ready
with the fast forward button.
